The promoter-less pEBNA-DEST expression vector is an episomal vector that permits extra-chromosomal (episomal) replication in mammalian cells. Episomal replication is facilitated by an EBV origin of replication (EBV-oriP) and a nuclear antigen, EBNA-1. Episomal replication enables transient, high level expression of a gene of interest.

 

Please note: the pEBNA-DEST expression vector requires the cloning of a promoter upstream of the gene of interest, which is facilitated by any of the MultiSite Gateway Pro kits.
